So did you hear the news??

George Lucas is rumored to be prepping a new Star Wars trilogy. How awesome is that?

It's rumored that Lucas will be using the profits that will be generated from re-releasing SW in 3D to finance the new trilogy.

It begs the question of...just WHAT exactly will the new trilogy focus on? Will it be a continuation of the Skywalker family? Or will it be a whole new Jedi that we focus on?

I find it hard to believe that it can continue on with the same characters (Even though I find that preferable), and this is why..

Harrison Ford.







I LOVE me some Harrison Ford. He was my first ever crush as Han Solo. Even though he's old as dirt now, he's still smoking hot sexy. (Shut up. Who are you to judge me?).






I love him so much that if it wasn't for a certain friend of mine using the Solo name (which btw she knows jack sh!t about Star Wars. "Shudder in convulsions") I could have been very likely to name my next child (if it was a boy) Han Solo.

What was that?
Why, Yes. Yes.
If I have another child and it is a girl her name will be Leia Amidala Organa.

Anyways.....
Harrison Ford is well..kind of snotty. He has stated numerous times that he will not do another SW movie. (He has expressed interest in re-visiting the role of Jack Ryan..you know Patriot Games, etc)

So Mr. Ford..why exactly will you not do another SW movie?

It's not as if he has an issue with Lucas. I mean he did another Indiana Jones movie for goodness sake. Did you all see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? I mean REALLY? Don't get me wrong. IJ is an awesome film franchise, but the last movie stunk skunks butts. He survived a nuclear bomb by hiding in a refrigerator!!!
Not to say that another SW movie couldn't possibly suck (Episode 1 anyone?) But at least the SW franchise has enough die hard fans that it would still be very lucrative.

I think it may have more to do with Ford thinking that he is better than SW. He really was the star of SW to "break out" and achieve a level of fame that is different from the likes of Carrie Fisher or Mark Hamill. He did Indiana Jones, The Fugitive, Patriot Games,and many other good movies.
But then again there are movies such as Six Days and Seven Nights, Random Hearts, Firewall that were TERRIBLE.

He also doesn't "do" SW events. EVER. I'm curious as to what was given/promised to him to make an appearance at San Diego Comic Con. That in itself is a miracle. I would have pissed myself if I would have been there.

You will frequently see Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill at events, along with anyone and everyone else who worked on SW.
Nerds don't care WHAT exactly you did for the SW franchise. If you were associated with it you automatically are a God and will be treated as such. So much so that you can chose to never work again in your life an instead just travel to different cities and get paid to attend SW events.

I don't get how someone would not want to be associated with SW. If it wasn't for us nerds you all wouldn't have sh!t.
So Mr. Ford...I highly recommend that you return to the SW franchise (if the rumor is true of a new trilogy). Even if it's only a cameo for a hot second. Because us fans deserve to see little Jedi Solo babies grow up and fight the evil Empire. But then again maybe your new movie Morning Glory will be a big success that will rival that of the SW franchise.
